Tonight in live music: Break Science, Sevendust, Devon Allman

Concerts this Thurs., Nov. 13

A few noteworthy shows slated for this Thurs., Nov.13...

Break Science with Manic Focus, Space Jesus An livetronica duo coming out of Brooklyn, Break Science is Adam Deitch (keys, production, programming) and Borahm Lee (drums, programming), who are influenced by hip hop production qualities but craft a rather eclectic hybrid of trip hop, glitch, dubstep, funk and electro-groove rock. Cuts off 2013’s Seven Bridges are a mix of fat fizzy synthesizers, splices of vocals, raps and instrumentals (ala Redman and Lettuce in “Brain Reaction”), and plenty of block-rocking beats, while latest remix “Vibe Walk” fuses Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” with Tycho’s “A Walk” to rather intriguing results. (Orpheum, Ybor City)

Sevendust Acoustic Tour Lajon Witherspoon’s raw, powerful howls are brought to the forefront in Time Travelers & Bonfires, the 2014 release from Sevendust that finds the Atlanta alt/nu metal outfit delivering acoustic re-imaginings of several songs from their nine-album repertoire, including Mainstream Rock charters like “Denial” and “Black,” and serving up six brand new cuts expressly written and recorded for the LP. This stripped-down tour hits town in support. (State Theatre, St. Petersburg)

Devon Allman with Sammy Davis Jr. Band The blues rockin’ guitar slingin’ son of Gregg Allman, Devon, brings his Florida tour to Seminole backing his debut (non-Honeytribe) solo album, Turquoise. This is a limited admission engagement so call the pub if you haven’t reserved tickets in advance. (Screwie Louie’s Porpoise Pub, Seminole)
