Jeb!: you need to work longer hours

The Democratic National Committee caught themselves some fodder today when former Florida governor Jeb! Bush, one of the Republican guys who wants to be president, said something that could get interpreted in a bad-ish way during an interview in New Hampshire.

When asked about how to grow the economy, he said Americans need to stop being layabouts and "work longer hours."

“My aspiration for the country and I believe we can achieve it, is 4 percent growth as far as the eye can see. Which means we have to be a lot more productive, workforce participation has to rise from its all-time modern lows. It means that people need to work longer hours and, through their productivity, gain more income for their families. That's the only way we're going to get out of this rut that we're in.”

Seriously guys, you all look too well-rested. Get a second job.

America needs you to stop picking your kids up from soccer practice, playing with your dogs, reading books, cooking nutritional meals, going to museums, going to the beach, attending musical performances and going to the doctor for regular checkups. What is this? China?

Obviously, the DNC took issue.
