Almost every month Tampa’s Bake’n Babes releases another limited edition, larger-than-life Freak Shake, and January’s installation is helping Tampa start Gasparilla season off the right way.

The new Gasparilla Freak Shake is a large tres leche milkshake in a skull and crossbones-adorned glass, topped with a slice of chocolate milk cake and a non-edible pirate rubber ducky. Oh, and the glass is rimmed with gold sequin sprinkles to resemble gold coins. The next freak shake will take its place soon enough, so you may want to grab one before it’s too late.

In the past, the bakery has made headlines with the viral (and Best of the Bay winning) Lizzo shake, as well as the most recent Pink Freak Shake that raised funds for a local woman during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The parade will be back on the streets Saturday, January 25, but it's never too early to get in the pirate spirit.

The most recent Instagrammable Gasparilla Freak Shake is being served at Bake’n Babes located 1701 N. Franklin St. in Tampa within Hall on Franklin.
