This Tampa mayoral race is turning out exactly as we saw it happening: Rose Ferlita leads all of the candidates for mayor of Tampa, but there is a furious battle between Bob Buckhorn & Dick Greco for 2nd place, and a chance to get into the March 22 runoff.
As of 8:38 p.m. Rose Ferlita has 25.7% of the vote, Buckhorn has 23.09, and Greco 22.5%.
Earlier CL was at Ed Turanchik's headquarters in the Westshore District. He said he thought it would be better if the municipal elections were held in the fall of the off-year (like St. Pete does). "You get through the November elections, then the holiday season comes. People don't start to focus on the elections until the middle of January, so it's a very short election season."
When asked what the campaign season has been like for him, Turanchik smiles broadly and said, "It's been a blast. It's been great. So much fun."
