Do It Today: show your political stripes and more

Whether you're a dem or a rep, or if you just want to haze the folks from the other camp, there's a meeting for you today:

Show your loud, proud, Democratic donkey pride at the Northwest Hillsborough Democratic Club Meeting, where you can meet, greet and network with politically like-minded local peeps. Call 813-390-3616 for more info. 6:30 p.m., fourth Tuesday of every month, Northdale Recreation Center, 15550 Spring Pine Drive, Tampa.

If you turn to Rush Limbaugh instead of Rachel Maddow for your political news, you'll probably be more interested in the ay Young Republicans Meeting. It's more organized and structured than the meeting for the dems (surprise!) and begins with a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by a general assembly at 7 p.m. Don't forget to bring your notes on the failings of the current administration and your lengthy diatribe on health care reform. Every fourth Tuesday, Quorum Tampa Hotel, 700 N. West Shore Blvd., Tampa.

Or, if you want to stay out of the political fray and just enjoy some art, try the Craftsman House's third annual Invitational Teapot Show. It's the last week to see this use-able art — these functional, handmade teapots are created by select artists from across the country. (Pictured: Teapot by participating artist Barbara Frey. The teapots are on display through June 28, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Mon.-Sat., 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sun., 2955 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, 727-323-2787, craftsmanhousegallery.com.
