Life Of The Party

Brew Confessions

My first beer came from a keg of Pabst Blue Ribbon in 1982, at the tender age of 10. My parents' friends were throwing a Fourth of July pool party that lasted all day long. In the beginning, I hung out with the other half dozen kids, but my fascination with that gleaming metal canister, pump and nozzle soon drew me out of the pool.

The rest of the afternoon, I became a self-appointed beer-tender, walking around with a pitcher of PBR and refilling every glass I found, stealing sips along the way. I'm sure some of the adults wondered why they never managed to finish a beer, but after a while they just gave in. Thanks to me, the escapades at that party became legend.

Luckily, there were a few people sober enough to clean me up when I hurled while watching a videotape of The Blues Brothers later that evening. Best party ever.
