There’s nothing more disheartening than pursuing something with so many obstacles that it almost feels unattainable. We've all been there.
But imagine having someone there to kickstart the process, and at the very least, help you get on the right track. That is essentially what local organization Creative Clay does for artists using an array of programs.
With the ultimate goal of making the arts accessible for all, Creative Clay’s mission is
“To to provide expressive, educational and vocational opportunities in the arts for people with obstacles to arts access.”
These people may include those with developmental, physical and emotional disabilities, children and veterans.
Featuring students in its Transition Program for ESE High School Students, Creative Clay presents two events which showcase some of its artists' capabilities and skills.
Now through June 18, visit Creative Clay (1114 Central Ave., St. Petersburg) for the "Five Years of Mail Art" exhibition, which displays collaborative paintings and drawings by not only Transition student artists, but also Creative Clay member artists and Gibbs High School Pinellas County Center for the Arts students.
Unique displays of 12-by-12-inch wood panels will highlight an assortment of “whimsical, colorful, realistic images.” The event is free and open to the public, but you can walk away with your favorite piece of the collection for just $40.

Giving Tree Music will lead a drum circle in the studio until 10 a.m., then, students perform “Ease on Down the Road” before receiving awards for their works in several categories.
