For its final Porch Party of the year, downtown St. Pete’s Museum of Fine Arts gets a little meta with some eye candy on the subject of, well, eyes.
Following the traditional porch hangout (including cash bar and eats), artist Steven Kenny will lead a demonstration on the art of drawing eyes, with a talk on the use of human eyes and expressions in art through history (preregistration encouraged). Then, at 6:30, everyone will feast their peepers on Tim Burton’s oft-overlooked 2014 narrative film Big Eyes, about the incredible true story behind the work of Margaret Keane.
