97X-Mas w/Stephan Jenkins/Barns Courtney/Justin Furstenfeld Technical difficulties (read: one of the band members coming down with a mean bug) pretty much forced Third Eye Blind’s Stephan Jenkins to play acoustic for a large chunk of the band’s May 12 set during the grand opening of Tampa’s Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park. This solo set across the bridge, however, is premeditated and happening as part of yet another free Jannus Live show organized by Bay area alternative rock station 97X. Barns Courtney and Blue October singer Justin Furstenfeld are also on the bill for the free concert open to folks who are at least 21 years old. Tickets are also required, but they don’t guarantee admission, so queue up early if you want the best chance at getting in. More information is available via 97Xonline.com. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) INFO

Yule! w/DJ Czech/Huda Hudia/Si-Dog/Inspiya/Inner Realms Looking for a dose of the underground EDM scene? It’s in Largo on Friday night thanks to this winter solstice celebration that brings regional acts — Cape Canaveral breakbeat producer Si-Dog, plus Tampa Bay’s Inner Realms, Inspiya and Huda Hudia — to Los dos Plebes, where Vancouver-born, Czech Republic-based DJ Czech spins ghetto funk, nu-funk, breakbeat and more until closing time. (Los dos Plebes Night Club, Largo) INFO

Minnesota w/JuLo/Nen./DOAZ/Sum R&R Vibe Tribe EDM fans in need of a more traditional venue should head to Ybor City for this show headlined by Berkeley, California producer Christian Bauhofer (aka Minnesota), who is touring in support Curio, his summertime EP of synthwave and bass that recently received its own remix package just in time for the tour. Producers from Tampa (JuLo) and Orlando (Nen.) open the gig. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO

Sullivan King w/G-Rex The untz of EDM meets classic rock shredding at the hands of Los Angeles producer and multi-instrumentalist Sullivan King, who’s been fusing the sounds together since his debut in 2014. It’s probably the only Friday night show that marries live guitar, big bass drops and live vocals. Detroit-based trap and bass DJ G-Rex brings his new Gift EP to open the show. (The Ritz, Ybor City) INFO

✔️ The Florida Orchestra: Home Alone The Florida Orchestra has been slaying its presentations of films from the Harry Potter series, but the ensemble is donning sleigh bells and joining the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay for a holiday concert that features Daniel Black conducting the charming John Williams score for classic Christmas film Home Alone. The movie, obviously, plays in the background during the one-night-only performance. (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater) INFO

Tribal Style Nebraska Mini-Mart is notorious for drool-worthy menu items like the bulgogi cheesesteak, carnitas messy fries and BLT, and the Seminole Heights hangout is getting into the live music game, too. Last week’s kickoff concert with Acho Brother got rained out, but this one featuring roots-reggae scene Tampa lifers Tribal Style looks to be all systems go. Free to attend and early (6:30 p.m. start). Full disclosure: CL Music Editor Ray Roa has a side gig assisting the Mini-Mart with social media. (Nebraska Mini-Mart, Tampa) INFO

US 103.5 Jingle Y’all w/Jerrod Niemann/Rodney Atkins Mainstream radio loves to throw concerts on behalf of its properties (last week saw 93.3-FLZ’s Jingle Ball and 98 Rock’s Not So Silent Night; this week we’ve got 97X-mas). Jingle Y’all finds iHeartMedia tapping “Drink to That All Night” country heartthrob Jerrod Niemann and asking him to join Rodney Adkins (“If You’re Going Through Hell”) at Tampa Bay’s premier country western club. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Pete, which could use a morale boost after several top execs resigned following the release of a not-so-sterling Tampa Bay Times exposé. (Dallas Bull, Tampa) INFO

✔️ Joshua Reilly w/Geri X/Kid Loki Joshua Reilly (RIYL: Billy Joe Shaver, Robbie Fulks and Slaid Cleaves) hosts a Tuesday night songwriter series at Safety Harbor’s Crooked Thumb Brewery, but he’s been breaking out as of late. This one finds him joining an even more respected Bay area songwriter, Geri X, plus Red Light Café co-curator Kid Loki for a set at one of Tampa’s most underrated coffee shop venues. (The Attic Café, Tampa) INFO

✔️ Esque w/Garden Club/Danny & Alex Danny & Alex and the kids in Garden Club are probably barely old enough to drink alcohol. However, they’ll be the best thing going at Green Bench on Friday as the brewery taps into the local pop music and jazz scene for a free show that even the olds will love. Esque — a Tampa Bay act supporting its debut album Colored — headlines the outdoor gig. *Danny & Alex fell off the bill, and now Billy Mays III will open the show with a set from his Infinite Third project. This show is probably going to move inside due to weather, too. (Green Bench Brewing Co., St. Petersburg) INFO

Jim Chambers Music Box Presents: Jingle Box w/Not Tonight/Margaret/Favorite Habit/Broken Radio/Sick Hot/Seeking 7/more It honestly feels like Christmas all year when Jim Chambers is around, but the effervescent former A&R rep and current music school headmaster makes it official for a jolly holiday show at Skipper’s Smokehouse, which showcases bands that’ve formed at his academy. (Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa) INFO

Mike Smiff Christmas Party One of XXL magazine’s “12 Miami Rappers You Should Know” heads north on Friday and stops at the relocated Pegasus Night Club (still the home of Wednesday night Pornaoke). The Richmond Heights emcee and Trick Daddy protegé is one of Dade County’s original hip-hop gatekeepers, but he’s recently found himself back in the spotlight thanks to a deal with Slip-n-Slide Records which released his Chase Dis Money mixtape last September. (Pegasus Night Club, Tampa) INFO

All is Bright Holiday Concert w/Cody Austin/Michael Fennelly/Emily Righter/Megan Watson/more It’s not often that we get to see a show at The Portico, but here’s a chance to see tenor Cody Austin as part of an eight-piece vocal ensemble backed by pianist Michael Fennelly. This show at an underused downtown Tampa venue is free to attend, but any proceeds from donations will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. (The Portico, Tampa) INFO

Moat Water 2 Beer & Deck Limited Release w/DJ Cub When it was first released in 2012, Moat Water was one of the more coveted Cigar City Brewing stouts (the beer was made with a touch of water from the gross-ass Skatepark of Tampa sewer moat, then barrel aged with coffee, vanilla and Canadian maple veneers). It’s been revived to celebrate the park’s 25th anniversary, and CL can confirm that it does indeed taste a little like “all-you-can-eat chocolate chip pancakes and bottomless coffee.” CCB’s El Catador Club members can buy the 10.6-percent ABV brew, but this party is the only place the public gets a crack for now. Samples will be poured, and DJ Cub provides the sounds. (The Bricks, Ybor City) INFO

Under the Covers w/Frances Farmer/Ugly Couple/Terrapin/Bathroom Lines/Boney Fiend Organizers of Under The Covers have staged some pretty memorable cover sets at Fubar over the years. They’ll do it one last time as the St. Pete venue approaches its final show (the venue will close after New Year’s Eve). Five locals — Frances Farmer, Ugly Couple, Terrapin, Bathroom Lines and Boney Fiend — take on the likes of Nirvana, The Velvet Underground, Kraftwerk, Fleetwood Mac and more. (Fubar. St. Petersburg) INFO
