Tampa rock band Akiva has some shit to say on new single

The track was put to tape at Morrisound.

Akiva’s supposed to play downtown Tampa’s Rock the Park series on June 4, but being able to gather in large groups might not be possible by then. Rock the Park’s been doing weekly streams in the meantime, and Aikiva (stylized "AKiVA") has some shit to say.

“‘Say Shit’ is a track we wrote with a hope to fuel one’s inner desire to walk out their passion regardless of what obstacles stand in their way,” Jacob Hales, bassist for the band, told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. He said that Akiva is heavily-inspired by 90s rock bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against the Machine.

“We want to bring that same attitude and style back to the forefront of music,” he said. “Our goal is to further help create a sound of the Bay and be a rock band that puts our city on the map. We love Tampa and feel that the culture is the closest home for our music.”

Listen to the track and watch the video—recorded at the legendary Morrisound in Tampa and taped in and around Tampa, respectively—below.
