After a pandemic-induced hiatus, this afternoon Tampa Mayor Jane Castor announced the return of the 4th of July party Boom By The Bay.
“Boom by the Bay is BACK baby! And it's bigger than ever with more locations, fireworks, and fun for the whole family,” tweeted the Castor.
This year’s event will feature fireworks along four miles of waterfront at six different locations: Sparkman Wharf, Armature Works, the Tampa Convention Center, Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, and new for this year - Bayshore Boulevard.
The firework show will begin at 7 p.m.
Get ready for a star-spangled 4th of July unlike any other! 🤩🇺🇸 #BoomByTheBay is BACK and bigger than ever with more locations, fireworks, and fun for the whole family. Sunday, July 4th, join us as we celebrate #IndependenceDay as a community.

The event will also include live music, food trucks, and other family-friendly entertainment, including a Boat Parade, which will follow the city’s typical holiday light boat parade route.

Last July 4th, Tampa Police officers beat the living shit out of protesters for blocking traffic on Dale Mabry, then lied about it. One of those protesters even recently posted about how she's still facing felony charges from that day despite there being "no evidence to support this claim."
So, it makes sense that the mayor is trying to do something a little different this year.
In other fireworks news, Busch Gardens also announced today that the park will be launching fireworks every single night this summer.
