Laura Jane Grace surprise-released a new EP, At War With the Silverfish, last month, and we’re also caught off guard to see that the Florida punk icon is playing two intimate shows in Ybor City this winter.
Tickets to see Laura Jane Grace play The Bricks in Ybor City, Florida on Dec. 10-11 go on sale Friday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. and will cost $30 per night. Tampa emo legend Pohgoh opens night one with Orlando’s Expert Timing handling support on night two.
The Tampa Bay shows are part of Grace’s short run through small venues in support of Silverfish, and will take place in the Bricks courtyard at 1327 E 7th Ave. in Ybor City.
Promoter Paul Williams—who famously charged the un-vaxxed $999 to see Teenage Bottlerocket—told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that proof of negative COVID-19 test result within 48 hours of the event is required, with the customer having the the option to voluntarily submit proof of full vaccination as a substitute if they so choose.
Doors for both shows are at 7 p.m., and only 125 people will be admitted on each night.
This marks the first chance Tampeños have to see Grace after her band Against Me! was forced to cancel a March 2020 Crowbar gig due to coronavirus concerts.
