Maybe you’ve missed Glove playing support for bands like the Nude Party, Broncho and the Coathangers. Maybe you missed Glove gigging at a recent Ranch Riders Spirits party, or maybe you missed the quartet when it was at tiny St. Pete dive the Bends over Fourth of July weekend.
Well, you might not want to miss Glove when it hits the checkered linoleum at The Hub for what is the group’s last set before Lollapalooza.
That’s right. Glove—whose take on rock and roll has been called everything from krauty, to primitive, to both proto and post-punk—is su-really and well-deservedly headed to Chicago where it plays day three along with Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Freddie Gibbs and more.
Bassist Justin Burns told CL that it’s the band’s first Windy City gig and added that this no-cover dive bar show could find Glove playing some new songs, “but also maybe a blissful dream or maybe a cacophony of sound, you’ll just have to come find out.”
Ricky Seelbach's solo project Ephemera Blaq opens the show.
