Curtis Hixon’s Winter Village can move over, because Winter Beach is coming to the St. Petersburg Pier this year.
From Nov. 20-Jan. 17, you can go alone or take the kiddos to enjoy the ice rink, walk around the Beach Holiday Market, eat food, visit Santa and even experience “snow days,” which more than likely just emans foamy bubbles that definitely shouldn’t be eaten like regular snow.
The rink is also set to feature themed events like Britney night, princess night (first 100 kids in princess attire receive a tiara) and a silent disco. If you’d rather stay off the ice you can try out one of four holiday movie nights or check out the holiday carolers throughout the month.
There’s also a Pride Night happening, but the date is TBA.
The list of vendors is being finalized, and if you want to join the Beach Holiday Market, applications are still open. Right now, you can expect hot chocolate and coffee from Kahwa, turkey legs from Uncle John’s Pride, beer from Corona and plenty of other food to enjoy while you watch everyone slip around on the ice skating rink.
Admission is free, but you have to pay if you want to ice skate (find tickets here), and you can bring your dog along, too. As always, parking at the Pier can be tricky, but organizers are offering on-site parking for $2.50 an hour for up to six hours.
You can also walk from the Sundial garage or find random street parking somewhere in downtown, but rideshare is always a good option. Please just don’t park in the Old Northeast only to have your car towed because you blocked a driveway (believe us, it happens a lot).
If Winter Beach isn’t enough, you can also check out the Christmas lights lining North Straub park right across the street every night. And if you want to get lost in a maze, Enchant Christmas is happening at Tropicana Field.
