Local indie-punk band The Nervous Girls is back performing with Growler and The Drain Outs at Seminole Heights’ Red Star Rock Bar Friday night, which marks the Girls’ first show since February 2020. The all-female four piece was playing it safe by not playing at all, but thankfully science changed that. “Super weird to say but we have a show on Friday?” the band posted on its Facebook page.
“We are fully vaxxed and ready to be nervous in public again.” The quartet is also asking attendees to only come if vaccinated as well. “We trust our fans and friends will continue to be smart and diligent about their decision to attend or not.” The show comes right after the May 13 release of the angry, shoe-gazing single “Transmission.”
The rest of the album is still to be determined but the band told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that its “best guess is sometime this fall. We’re still in the midst of recording, but we’re about halfway through. (Red Star Rock Bar, Tampa)
