Chill Bros. Scoop Shop, Shortwave Coffee opening in downtown Tampa

Missouri’s Shortwave joins Tampa favorite Chill Bros. in Water Street and Sparkman Wharf.

Sparkman Wharf and Water Street announced a trio of new tenants this week, and local foodies will be excited to see Chill Bros. Scoop Shop and Shortwave Coffee on the list.

Shortwave—a new to the area specialty coffee bar and roaster out of Missouri—is opening on the ground floor of Sparkman Wharf, and Chill Bros. is opening its third local location at Water Street.

The ice cream shop has storefronts in Ybor City and South Tampa), but the new location will at the base of the 23-story residential and retail tower Cora, at 1011 Cumberland Ave.

Orange Theory, the fitness boutique with a cult-like following, was also among the new announcements, which come after a busy round of news that saw several establishments—including C House, 7th+Grove, Corners Pizza and more—make commitments to open new concepts or locations in Vinik-ville.

Blocks away from Sparkman’s Wharf, Water Street Tampa is a 50-plus-acre mixed-use project underway downtown. Publix Greenwise and Naked Farmer also recently announced new locations in the district.

Once the neighborhood is complete, Water Street Tampa will house 3,500 newly built residences. Approximately 1,300 rental apartments and 42 for-sale condominiums are part of the first phase of construction, as are 50 retailers and restaurants, two hotels and the first new downtown office towers in almost 25 years.
