Clearwater could be getting a Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop soon.

Permit applications were filed with the city of Clearwater back in June and are under review, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The scoop shop would take over Subway’s 2,560-square-foot space at 409 Mandalay Ave.

There hasn’t been any official announcement from the ice cream company, but a new Instagram profile labeled as an ice cream shop popped up recently with “coming soon” and “follow for updates” in its bio.

The locally owned and operated shop also has pinned stories on its profile promoting catering, collaborations and the fact that they’re hiring.

Tampa Bay used to be riddled with Ben & Jerry’s locations, with one at downtown St. Pete’s Baywalk Complex (now Sundial) and another in Tampa at the University of South Florida, but both closed about a decade ago. Right now, a trek to Sarasota is the only way to get a B&J served to you.

That’s changing soon, though. The Vermont-based ice cream company also announced a new scoop shop coming to Midtown Tampa back in March. Soon enough, you’ll be able to find your favorite flavors outside the grocery store served up any way you want, whether it’s a waffle cone, sundae, shake or smoothie.
