It’s been almost a year since Ybor City staple La Tropicana closed its doors for good, but now a restaurant called Daddy O’s Patio is moving into 1822 E 7th Ave.

The latest permitting activity on the building owned by Ybor Pedroso LLC–a company tied to real estate mogul Darryl Shaw—is an application to install an awning on the patio. According to Open Corporates, Madison Fortuna Foods Industries, LLC is another company associated with Daddy O’s. Madison Fortuna owns Slap Yo’ Mama food truck whose brick and mortar location opened in West Tampa last fall.

Slap Yo’ Mama owners didn't say much else, but told Creative Loafing Tampa they're planning on a Memorial Day weekend opening. You can follow @daddyospatioybor on Instagram for updates, though with almost 9,000 followers there have been no posts made.
