Tampa hip-hop’s ever-evolving scene continues to grow, and it gets to have stage lights on it thanks to promoters like Healthy Phoenix who make sure local acts get proper stage time and therefore get seen. On Friday, Gat$—prepping for the release of a new album, Robbed—shares the stage at Ybor City's Crowbar with up-and-coming heavy hitters including Reeves who, by the sound of his single “Slippin’,” is ready to be seen. Justin Lundy has been around for a minute working with collective Wave Theory, lending his rhymes to local band Bangarang, and just all around killing it; check out his Soundcloud page (@lundyrve) for proof. Powerhouse underground emcee Ayo Mama rounds out the bill.
Only 100 tickets will be sold to this limited-capacity event.
Hip-Hop Explored: Gat$ w/Reeves/Bottemboy Fish/Lundy/Ayo Mama/DJ Dfaz. Friday, April 2, 8 p.m. $10. Crowbar, Ybor City. crowbarybor.com
