Downtown Tampa’s historic and breathtaking Tampa Theatre is officially back open for in-person screenings, and if you’re ready to see movies in a socially-distanced setting, the venue is waiting to entice you with a new lineup of Oscar-nominated flicks.
SLIDESHOW
One year later, Tampa Theatre reopened to the public last weekend
The 11-night run kicks off on Thursday, April 1 with a screening of “Promising Young Woman,” which Creative Loafing Tampa Bay film & TV critic John W. Allman described as a must see featuring a “dick-punch climax that literally left me slack jawed.” The screenings continue on Saturday, April 3 with another Allman favorite, “Nomadland.”
Other highlights on Tampa Theatre’s Oscar nominee showcase include various live action, animated and documentary short films, plus a Thursday, April 15 screening of “Judas and the Black Messiah”
All screenings are happening at a limited capacity, with temperature checks and masks required, among other COVID-19 precautions. Tickets for Tampa Theatre’s Oscar nominated film screenings are $11.50 and $13.50, and available via tampatheatre.org.
