It’ll have a drive-thru, too.

Chicagoland favorite Portillo’s is opening its third Tampa Bay location near Tyrone Square Mall in St. Petersburg.

What’s more is that the restaurant—located at 2300 Tyrone Blvd.—will also have a double drive-thru, according to a press release, which added that the location should open in the first half of next year.

The Chicago-style weiner and steak sandwich slinging, fast casual concept already has locations in Tampa (2102 E Fowler Ave.) and Brandon (1748 Brandon Blvd.), but this is the restaurant's first foray into the ‘Burg.

Michael Osanloo, CEO of Portillo’s, said that folks have been clamoring for a St. Pete location since the chain opened in Tampa, adding that, “Guests have been coming to Portillo’s for our craveable food for years, and now we’re coming to them.”

The location is now hiring managers and shift leaders for the St. Pete location, which will be 7,800 square-feet with indoor and outdoor seating for more than 200 people.

Portillo's got its start nearly 60 years ago when Dick Portillo spent $1,100 on a small hot dog trailer called "The Dog House" in Villa Park, Illinois.

Can't wait to get a cheese fountain for my birthday party.
