ZZ Top, without Dusty Hill, plays sold-out Tampa show next week

The band’s guitar tech now fills Hill’s role, beard and all.

Just like the Rolling Stones continued on with a tour that stopped in Tampa last Friday after the death of drummer Charlie Watts, the legendary ZZ Top is rocking on after the July death of longtime singer and bassist Dusty Hill. The Houston rock band’s guitar tech, Elwood Francis, now fills Hill’s role, beard and all, and thus the music lives on.

The “La Grange” threesome hits Seminole Hard Rock for a Tuesday night show, though the show is sold-out. Maybe you’ll be luckier at the slots.

ZZ Top. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 8 p.m. $155-$262. Event Center at Seminole Hard Rock, Tampa. seminolehardrocktampa.com
