Tampa Oyster Fest happens next month and it benefits local educators

It happens at Tabellas on Dec. 12.

If you’re into oysters, and give a schuck about helping others, then you’ll probably want to check out Frameworks’ Tampa Oyster Fest when it arrives at Tabellas at Delaney Creek, 5818 Causeway Blvd., on Dec. 12.

The event runs from 2 p.m.-6 p.m., and a GA ticket will give you access to all-you-can-eat oysters, unlimited drinks, BBQ and the event’s live music lineup featuring Fil Pate Trio, The Applebutter Express and Have Gun, Will Travel.

VIP gets you the same access with the add-on of a private oyster bar and lounge seating. A VIP ticket includes a $350 scholarship to Teens In Action, a 10-month program aimed at giving high school students the “social and emotional skills needed to succeed in all aspects of their lives,” according to the event’s website.

Tickets to Frameworks' Oyster Fest 2021 are only available in advance (translation: there won’t be available at the door). Kids 12 and under, however, get in free. Tabellas has its own parking lot, so finding a spot shouldn’t be a problem either.

If you’re not familiar with Frameworks, the nonprofit’s mission is to “empower educators, youth services professionals, and parents/guardians with training, coaching and research-based resources to equip students with social and emotional skills,” according to the event’s page. All the proceeds are going straight to them.

The event is still taking sponsors, and you can apply via tampaoysterfest.com.
