Dwayne Dopsie, child of accordion king Rockin’ Dopsie, brings Zydeco Hellraisers to Tampa on Friday

Living history comes to Skipper's.

Dwayne Dopsie, the youngest child of accordion king Rockin’ Dopsie has fronted his cur rent band, the Zydeco Hellraisers, since 1999 when he was 19 years old.

With two Grammy nominations, eight studio albums, and a “Dolly Parton Show” guest spot, Dwayne has written, composed, and sung just about every track he has recorded, on his own. The band has been hard at work with a tribute album for Dwayne’s late father, which has not emerged quite yet; but hey, the year’s still young.

In the meantime, the new king of Zydeco brings his four-piece backing band to Skipper’s Smokehouse on Friday. There are still tickets available.
