Greg Dulli, frontman for The Afghan Whigs, has stayed busy with solo material, but his band hasn't released new music in about five years. That changed yesterday with the arrival of "I'll Make You See God," but the best news for fans of the Cincinnati indie-rock forefather is a tour that kicks off in Florida and includes a summertime date in Tampa Bay.

Tickets to see The Afghan Whigs play Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 8 p.m. go on sale Friday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. EDT and cost $30. Other Florida stops on the tour include Ft. Lauderdale for the May 11 tour opener and Orlando on May 13.

A rep for promoter No Clubs Presents told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that the show will indeed take place at the current location of the venue, which recently announced plans to move after two decades in the historic and entertainment district.
In a statement, Dullu said the cut, where you can barely understand what the hell he's talking about was one of the hardest rock songs the band has done. "It was written and performed on sheer adrenalin," he added.

There's no word on a new album from The Afghan Whigs, which means you'll have to keep spinning 2017's In Spades for now.
