La Segunda Bakery & Cafe will open its St. Petersburg location on March 21

The air in St. Petersburg's Crescent Heights neighborhood is about to smell like fresh-baked Cuban bread. After teasing a fall 2021 opening, legendary Ybor City bakery and cafe has announced that its St. Petersburg location will open to the public on Monday, March 21.

La Segunda's St. Pete location—located at 2436 4th St. N in the Holiday Plaza—will focus on grab-and-go orders, delivery and catering, according to a press release. A rep for La Segunda told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that the Cuban break will be made at the Ybor flagship, but baked in St. Pete where all the other items will be made from scratch.

Indoor and pet-friendly outdoor seating will also be available. Its 1,820-square-feet will be able to accommodate 40 diners inside and 28 more on the patio.

Menu details are forthcoming, but expect St. Pete's location to offer La Segunda staples like the Cuban sandwich, Media Noche, Tony's Turkey,  1915 Club, Ybor's Muffaletta,  salads like Cuban Cobb and El Jefe plus all the guava pastries cold pastry favorites like flan and tres leche.

Hours at La Segunda's St. Petersurg bakery and cafe will be 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m. seven days a week, but a ribbon-cutting/bread braking ceremony will go down at 10 a.m. on March 21.
