Hopefully, none of you Pettyheads were planning to catch Mike Campbell kickoff the Dirty Knobs' tour in Tampa this year.

“We were all packed and ready to fly to Tampa today to finally start our tour,” a statement from guitar legend Mike Campbell himself began. “Unfortunately, a positive Covid test result arose last night in our touring party and we have had to make the frustrating but prudent decision to postpone the Tampa and Gainesville shows to early May.”

The March 9 Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs show at Ybor City’s Orpheum is now on May 4. As for the sold-out, two-night stint in Gainesville, the new dates are May 6 and 7 (the former being five years since Mike played his last show in Florida with Tom Petty). No further action is required for ticket holders.

There’s no doubt that we want Campbell and friends to be safe and healthy (some of us still find ourselves sobbing over Tom Petty’s 2017 death), so take a deep breath and go listen to the band’s new album, External Combustion, which just emerged last Friday.
