This morning, the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed that July 2022 was the hottest month ever recorded in Tampa's history.
According to the NWS, last month had an average temperature of 86.3 degrees in Tampa, which is incredibly high when you consider this number includes the low and high temperature values.
The previous record was set in September of 2018, when the average temperature was 85.8 degrees.
June was also disgustingly hot, and combined with July's temps, Tampa also set a new record for hottest consecutive months, with an average temperature from June 1 through July 2022 of 85.7 degrees. The final numbers are in and Tampa has set the record for the Warmest Month and Warmest Consecutive Months since records began in 1890! It does look like we'll see temperatures drop back closer to normal during the upcoming week though as rain chances increase. #FLwx pic.twitter.com/d8LAFu5Y53

Experts predict Florida will only get hotter. If average temps continue, says the NWS, 2022 will very likely break the record for hottest year on record for Tampa.
