Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando County's all-gender roller derby league is back with another exciting bout, but this time these skaters are battling it out for a good cause.

Happening on Sunday, Nov. 13 inside Port Richey's Spinnations Skating Center at
8345 Congress St., this charity bout pits Revolution Roller Derby's team The Valkyries against a mash-up of skaters from Tampa Bay and beyond.

Both monetary and physical donations will be raised for the local nonprofit The Volunteer Way, which has battled poverty and hunger throughout the greater Port Richey area for upwards of 30 years.

Tickets for next month's "The Valkyries vs The World" bout are available on the Revolution Roller Derby website for $10, or for $12 at the event. Folks that bring donations for The Volunteer Way—like gently-used clothes and personal items, baby or pet food—will receive $2 off of the entry price. Children ages 10 and under get into the bout for free.

For more information on this upcoming competition and charity event—like its TBA  tailgating party—head to revolutionrollerderby.com or its Facebook page at @RevolutionRollerDerby. The full list of competing skaters will also be released at the end of this month.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own chairs, and light bites and refreshments can be purchased at the skating center's cafe.

Head to the Women's Flat Track Derby Association's website to brush up on the somewhat-confusing rules of the exciting contact sport, in preparation for next month's charity bout.
