Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) says Hurricane Nicole won’t affect plans for its three-day party this weekend in Orlando, and we bet a lot of you are getting ready and preparing for what could be the EDM party of the year. Whether it is your first festival or you’re a regular raver, here are some essential tips you should know before immersing yourself under the electric sky.

Decide in advance what artists you want to see

Unfortunately, it is impossible to be everywhere at once and with so much going on, it can be overwhelming to decide in the moment who you want to see. Thankfully, the set times have been released specifying who will be playing when and where. This way you won’t miss a beat and you’ll know exactly where to be.

Set meeting points

Before getting lost in the seven acres around Orlando’s Tinker Field, take a look at the festival map and decide on designated meeting points and time with your friends just in case someone gets lost. This is also a great way to reconvene if your group wants to see different artists at the same time.
Wear creative (but comfortable) outfits
Festival fashion is a great way to express and embrace who you are, and EDC is the perfect setting for that. However, remember that you will be raving all day in these clothes, so besides making sure you slay, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes (and double check the weather forecast to see if it will be hot or cold).

Make and trade kandi

Yes, with a k. Kandi are bracelets made of beads and letters that ravers create and exchange. These accessories often focus on messages of PLUR (peace, love, unity and respect). This tradition is a great way to meet and connect with others while creating lasting memories.

Stay hydrated

As mentioned before, you will be dancing and partying pretty much all day, so you can’t forget to take care of your body. The best way to do this is by buying one of those hydration backpacks that you can refill with water at any of the designated stations throughout the festival. This way you will have easy access to water, save money and stay healthy.

Embrace the experience

Be yourself, dance and make friends! Festivals like EDC promote safe spaces to embrace your uniqueness as well as everyone else’s while raving to some of the most famous artists in the world. Every day will be better than the one before, so make the most out of the experience.
