A home designed by two pioneers of the Sarasota School of Architecture is now for sale

A midcentury-modern home designed by renowned architects Ralph Twitchell and Paul Rudolph, founding members of the Sarasota School of Architecture movement, is now on the market.

Located at 904 Virginia Dr., in Sarasota's Cultural District, the 1,839-square-foot home was built in 1941, and later remodeled and expanded in 2009. Featuring three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the home also comes with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a pool with a marble deck, a chef's kitchen with a massive Caesarstone counter, and a Selby-inspired garden.

Twitchell is considered the father figure and founder of the Sarasota School of Architecture, and hired Rudolph in 1940. While this home was one of their earlier creations, Twitchell and Rudolph were responsible for an enormous amount of ground-breaking structures in the Tampa Bay area, like the Cocoon House, the Riverview High School, the Sarasota High School, the Healy Guest House in Siesta Key, the Revere Quality House, the Lido Beach Casino and more.

The current asking price is $759,000, and the listing agent is Kim Maylee of Coldwell Banker.
