Arguably one of the smallest homes currently for sale in Florida also has one of the largest price tags.
Situated on the well-to-do barrier island of Casey Key in Sarasota County, this one-bedroom, one-bathroom home was built in 1950, and comes with just 472-square-feet of living space.
But clearly the lot is really what's up for grabs.
The home, which is located at
3761 Casey Key Rd., sits on a full acre of beach frontage on the Gulf of Mexico with 108-feet of waterfront. Over the last couple years, attempts to build on the lot have been thwarted by the local variance board over
environmental concerns. But according to the listing, at least some of these issues have reportedly been cleared up.
"New home plans designed by renowned Naples architects, Stofft Cooney, and recently granted a Sarasota County variance, many of the challenges of building on the beach have already been overcome," reads the listing.
The property was last purchased by an LLC that purchased the parcel in 2017 for $361,200. Though the current taxable value of the land is $1,644,830, according to the public records.
The listing is currently asking $4.5 million, and the listing agents are Valerie Dall'Acqua and Lisa Napolitano of Premier Sotheby's.
