The world is exploding and rhinos are going extinct, but there's one more giraffe in the world today. Watch the video and feel better about some of the things we humans do that aren't quite this awesome.
Giraffes are actually on the endangered species list, so while we hate to see any creature kept in captivity and ogled by people at a theme park (especially one owned by SeaWorld) for the thrill of almost puking on a roller coaster, this birth is actually a really, really good thing.
See, Busch Gardens is part of Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and AZA has a species survival program, which, when distilled down, is something that's supposed to help keep endangered animals from going extinct.
But back to the newest leg-minded addition to Busch Gardens: Patty is already 5'5" and weighs 105 pounds. She was born to a giraffe named Bititi on Mar. 16, hence the name. Pretty soon they'll both be visible on the "savannah" so everyone can ooh and aaaah over them.
Pay attention — at around :16, you can see this tiny giraffe already judging humanity for letting things get this far. We feel you, sweetie. We totally feel you.
