On Dec. 8, 1943, the Doors frontman Jim Morrison was born at the Brevard Hospital on U.S. 1 in Melbourne. Now, the birth home of “The Lizard King” is for sale, and the asking price is really going to light your fire.

Located at 2100 Vernon Pl., the historic 1,856-square-foot home was built in 1935 and was last purchased for $225,000 back in 2007. The current asking price? $2.5 million.

“I believe, as the listing agent, that this home is going to go to a very special buyer who is a superfan of Jim Morrison and The Doors,” said Steve Gordon, of eXp Realty to Florida Today.  “I think that this particular buyer will probably come from either the West Coast — maybe somewhere in the Hollywood area — or somebody internationally. Potentially from somewhere in Europe or the U.K. Or maybe France, because that’s where he’s buried,” he continued.

According to the publication, Jim’s family lived in the three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage for about 6 months, while his father was training at the nearby Naval Air Station Melbourne during WWII.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of local and global history,” says the listing. Indeed.
