Despite Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo making an argument based on "seriously flawed" science, the state board of medicine, in November, finalized a rule that aims to prohibit health providers from providing gender-affirming care for transgender youth under the age of 18.
One doctor on the board is Tampa surgeon Dr. Michael Wasylik, whose office saw a protest last Saturday where about two dozen activists led by the Party for Socialism and Liberation Tampa Bay (PSL) were met by a couple of counter-protesters.
