Photos: Experimental Norwegian folk band Heilung brings viking vibes to Clearwater's Ruth Eckerd Hall

After almost a decade of existing, Heilung's Norwegian production—featuring literal spears, shields, and plenty of Viking headgear—finally made its Florida debut on Monday night at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

In a world where bands get compartmentalized into easily-digestible categories, Heilung goes against the grain. The experimental folk band with shamanic tendencies utilizes field recordings and pagan rituals to create a one-of-a-kind stage show that’s clearly found a large audience.
