Arsenal FC defeated Chelsea FC 4-0 in the Florida Cup Saturday night at Orlando's Camping World Stadium, concluding FC Series' annual nationwide soccer tournament. The stadium saw a record-breaking crowd for a soccer match with 63,811 people in attendance.
A sea of red and blue filed into the stadium, with fans cheering their team's anthems, boasting "can I have your jersey?" signs in various different languages and embracing each other after their club scored—well, at least Arsenal fans.
With two goals in the first half and another couple in the second, Arsenal's offense was simply too much for its Premier League Rival to handle. Arsenal's newly-acquired Gabriel Jesus kicked off the scoring fest when he chipped a shot past the keeper in the 15th minute and was later awarded Universal Orlando's Man of the Match trophy.
On the other hand, Chelsea's American-born midfielder Christian Pulisic wasn't subbed into the game until the second half and didn't get any good opportunities to showcase his skills in front of the home crowd.
Camping World Stadium's sold-out crowd was the largest attendance for a soccer match in the venue's history, even more than when it hosted World Cup matches in 1994 and Orlando City SC vs. NYC FC in 2015.
FC Series, founded in 2015, is an annual friendly soccer series hosted in the United States and features a variety of international teams from around the world.
