Blackbrick

With ample success at its Miami location, modern chinese-fusion restaurant, Blackbrick, plans to open a Tampa location this August. Featuring more traditional dim sum like dumplings as well as modern dishes like pork and grits, Blackbrick's chef Richard Hale has received perhaps the most important accolade of them all: the Guy Fieri seal of approval.

Dave’s Hot Chicken

Multiple locations
It’s no secret that the Tampa Bay Area is becoming a haven for chicken lovers, and L.A.-based Dave’s Hot Chicken is coming to hop in on the action. Signing a deal to open eight locations in the greater Tampa area in the coming years, the chicken spot carries something for all eaters with spice levels ranging from “no spice” to “the reaper”.

Crisp & Green

Multiple locations
To accommodate its growing population of young urban professionals, Tampa Bay is a prime location for this fast-casual spot. This health-forward Minnesota-based chain is all about bowls. From salads to acai, Crisp & Green has something for everyone. According to their website, there are three locations expected to open up in the Tampa Bay Area.

A St. Pete Pier favorite, Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille will open its fourth location this summer in St. Pete's Jungle Terrace neighborhood near Seminole. The Florida-based chain offers Caribbean-inspired dishes, a wide assortment of cocktails and a view of Boca Ciega Bay.

Yard House

The large indoor sports-bar chain, Yard House, is coming to Channelside. Boasting a menu with over 100 beers on tap, a large selection of bar bites and plant-based options, Yard House joins the list of developments as part of the $3.5 billion Water Street development project near the Lightning’s Amalie Arena.

Late Start Brewing Co.

Swapping Channelside for Cass Street, Late Start Brewing Co. will soon occupy a 2,500 square-foot space in downtown Tampa. The craft brewery’s new spot will feature a bar, dining space, outdoor seating and in-house food service. Until its new location opens this year, patrons can enjoy Late Start at its current location inside of Pour House.

This year, Tallahassee-based brewery, Ology Brewing Co., will join the growing number of boozy joints in Seminole Heights. Taking over Angry Chair Brewing’s old location, Ology is known for its expansive menu from hazy IPAs to imperial stouts with innovative flavor notes and catchy titles.

Lord Hobo Brewing Co.

Opening its first location outside of its homebase in Boston, Lord Hobo Brewing Co. will also take part in Seminole Heights’ brewing boom. Permitting is still up in the air, so it'll be awhile until its doors open complete with outdoor biergarten, a kid-friendly recreation area, an in-house kitchen and a rooftop bar.

Good Night John Boy

16 Second St. N, St. Petersburg
For those craving ‘70s nostalgia, Good Night John Boy has answered your prayers. The 4,000-square-foot ‘70s themed nightclub will take over Ringside Cafe in downtown St. Pete but has not announced an opening date. While sticking to the era’s classic hits like ABBA and Bee Gees, Good Night John Boy will also play modern music reminiscent of the period like Silk Sonic and Dua Lipa.

Halelife Bistro

As the brainchild of the minds behind HaleLife Bakery, HaleLife Bistro boasts a sit-down experience free of dairy, gluten, soy, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts. Planning to open this summer in a 3,200 square-foot space in St. Pete’s Warehouse Arts District, the bistro will seat up to 60 patrons and carry its beloved bakery classics on premises.

Pacific Counter

Award-winner for Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay’s “Best Poke Bowls”, Pacific Counter, is coming to Tampa. The long awaited third location of the St. Pete-based poke bowl and hotdog joint will be located in the Modera Apartment building in downtown and plans to open this summer. As per usual, the spot will allow patrons to create their own bowls, sushi burritos and hotdog combos.

Good Intentions

In the past, it’s been difficult to find upscale, evening dining options for plant-based eaters. Good Intentions is the next spot to prove this notion wrong. In collaboration with other Bay Area vegan spots like Black Radish Grocer, Golden Dinosaurs Deli and Nah Dogs, Good Intentions plans to open this summer in St. Pete’s Grand Central District.

Another business opening as part of the Water Street Development project, popular U.K.-based Asian chain, Wagamama is not letting supply chain issues stop its Florida debut in downtown Tampa. Known for its ramen, noodle dishes and craft cocktails, Wagamama is expected to open in the coming months.

Predalina, the next project coming from the Tampa-based hospitality group behind Oxford Exchange and The Library, will be on the first floor of Water Street's Cora building . Expected to open in the coming months, Predalina will serve upscale Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and fresh seafood.

Wulfhaven Brewing Co.

As the Carrollwood region’s first microbrewery, Wulfhaven promises a tap list with juicy and bitter IPAs and pale ales as well as other boozy options like wine and seltzers. The family-owned brewery will have a patio for your pups and will allow kids to hang around until 8:30. While there won’t be a kitchen onsight, Wulfhaven expects to host food trucks regularly.

Raising Cane’s

With a Raising Cane’s coming to Clearwater, the Chick-fil-A across the street from the chain’s new spot is expected to have some competition. Known for its chicken tender baskets, Texas toast and signature Cane’s dipping sauce,it is unclear when the highly anticipated, Louisiana-based chicken spot is expected to open.

Central Park Food Hall

For those wanting to skip out on cross-bridge traffic going to Armature Works, an upscale food hall is coming to downtown St. Pete. Hoping to host 11 concepts, Central Park Food Hall will also feature a rooftop bar, a dining space, private dining and event spaces. Although the opening date is unclear, Central Park hopes to open by the end of 2022.
