A historic home with ties to a popular American novelist is now on the market in St. Petersburg's Historic Old Northeast.
Located at 1330 Cherry St. NE, the home was previously owned by author Dennis Lehane, who has penned a total of 12 novels, but is probably best known for "Mystic River," "Shutter Island," "Live by Night" and "Gone Baby Gone," all of which were later turned into major films of the same name.
But besides having his work adapted by Martin Scorsese and Ben Affleck, Lehane has also worked as a writer on HBO's "The Wire," and "Boardwalk Empire." He currently has a series called "Small Mercies" in development with Apple TV+.
According to property records, Lehane purchased the home in 2007 for $590,000 and sold it for $460,000 in 2011. While living in St. Petersburg, Lehane taught as a writer-in-residence at Eckerd College, his alma mater.
The 2,586-square-foot home was built in 1919, and comes with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It also features vaulted ceilings, a wood burning fireplace, a home generator, a large screened-in front porch, and more.
Today, if you want to own the Lehane home it will cost you $1,649,000. The listing agent is Tiffany McAlister of Realty One Group Sunshine.
