A patch of land that was once the site of a near-century old mansion owned by a famous cereal tycoon is now for sale in Dunedin.

Up until recently, the homesite was the location of the eccentric "Kellogg Mansion, " which was once the winter home of W.K. Kellogg, the inventor of Corn Flakes and other popular cereals.

The home, located at 129 Buena Vista Drive S, was built in 1925 and purchased by Kellogg in 1934, after his company successfully weathered the Great Depression.

At it's peak, the over-the-top 7,667-square-foot home featured five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as a disco room, an antique bar and glass-domed ceiling, stained-glass windows, a carriage house, and more.
Kellogg and his family only spent two winters in the home, but the legend outlived his residence - at least until it was purchased a couple years ago for $4 million and demolished (in a fury of controversy) because of mold and structural issues.

Now, all that's left of the Kellogg Mansion are some 3D scans from USF students, a few fixtures and statues scattered around Tampa Bay that were either stolen or auctioned off, and this dirt lot.

The space is actually now three adjacent waterfront lots, currently asking $7,000,000 and comes with a deep water dock, and 300-feet of seawall along St. Joseph's Sound.

The listing agents are Terry Tillung and Tanner Tillung, with Coldwell Banker Realty.
