Last Thursday, drivers from Tampa’s 10 Roads Express went on strike to demand that the contract carrier—one of the largest working with the United States Postal Service—sit at the table with Teamsters  to negotiate a fair and reasonable contract.

“The Company is violating the National Labor Relations Act by refusing to bargain with the Union. It is through the hard work of these Teamster employees that has made 10 Roads Express the successful and profitable company that it is,” Jeff Testa, Trustee and Deputy Director of Organizing for Tampa’s Teamsters Local 79, told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Last Friday, workers—just a handful of hundreds that were on strike nationwide—were still on the picket line down the road from Tampa International Airport where they even saw support from Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera.
