Blue Bunny Ice Cream’s new ride might just change your mind about whether or not Orlando is a certified Big Deal. Yeah, sure, the city has theme parks galore, but now it’s got a leg up on the rest of the state in a different way: another ice cream sandwich truck.

The dessert-shop-on-wheels from Le Mars, Iowa-based Blue Bunny is expected to introduce itself to Winter Haven from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the annual 863 Local FiArt Fest, hosted in Central Park. But the truck’s ice cream cookie sandwiches, which are personalized with everything from candy to mixed nuts, will also make occasional stops in the Tampa area.

“Orlando is a nonstop, entertaining city all year round,” said local truck manager Amy Fischer in a statement. “All the activity and liveliness provide the perfect atmosphere for Blue Bunny to surprise people with a unique and clever ice cream experience.”

The greater Orlando area is one of two locations — Phoenix being the other — that’ve scored their own Blue Bunny truck, whose moves fans can follow on Twitter or Instagram. But it’s not the only mobile concept serving up multiple ice cream flavors on freshly baked goods. Midnight Sun Ice Cream Sandwich Co. has also been slinging its artisan ice cream sandwiches, using organic flour and local eggs, in Orlando since 2013.

Anyone up for changing the city’s nickname to Ice Cream Sandwich Truck Capital of the World?
