Local jazz trio La Lucha is joined by clarinetist and saxophonist Ken Peplowski and trumpeter James Suggs this Friday for a virtual Palladium Live performance.
Last year, the Lucha-dors—John O’Leary III on piano, drummer Mark Feinman and Alejandro Arenas on bass (pictured above, left to right)—made their Arbors Records debut with the genre-bending Everybody Wants To Rule The World which spent 14 weeks in JazzWeek’s Top 30 chart. The album mixes new original works with reimagined covers of classics by, you guessed it, Tears for Fears and David Bowie.
La Luncha’s rendition of Patrick Swayze’s “She’s Like the Wind” alone fills all the empty holes inside of me. The virtual show goes live Friday night at 8 p.m., but with a one-time purchase you have access to it for 48 hours. Grab some weed, and your weekend plans are made.
