Think of American Stage’s 21st Century Voices festival of new plays as one-stop shopping for theater — over the course of one weekend you can gorge on new work from Tampa Bay playwrights (and beyond). From Gina Stevenson’s looks-to-be-chilling The Colony on Thursday to American Stage’s playwright-in-residence Natalie Symons’ The People Downstairs on Sunday, it appears the festival will give you a full weekend of new voices with lots to say.
