If any local fits the narrative of moving up north to make it big, itโ€™s Alexis Carra.

After being accepted into Yale, the Berkeley Preparatory School graduate found herself in the touring cast of โ€œFosseโ€ during her junior year of college, which led to television job offers on both sides of the camera, and eventually, a swing slot on Broadway, in some musical called โ€œWicked.โ€

Carra moved back to Tampa earlier this decade to raise a family, and though she hasnโ€™t hit many stages since coming home, youโ€™ll probably hear some tales of her family history and roots while she sits at her piano during this stories-and-songs power-hour.

Tickets to see Alexis Carra play New Tampa Performing Arts Center in Tampa on Friday, Jan. 17 are still available and start at $15.
