The St. Petersburg Museum of History recently partnered with Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center to create St. Pete’s only historic boat tour: Liquid to Land: St. Pete’s Waterfront History—and the next one happens this weekend.
Departing from the St. Pete Marina at The Pier, the eco-vessel Discovery will cruise up to Snell Isle and then south to Coquina Key. Throughout the two-hour tour passengers will hear historical dialogue curated by the museum and ecological stories from the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center team.
Team members will share how St. Pete’s waterfront landmarks came to be and what happened to Tampa Bay’s ecosystems as a result of shoreline reshaping and development.
The ship leaves the port on the third Saturday of each month and the next expedition is on Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. Tickets are $45 each and include same-day complimentary admission into the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center and the St. Petersburg Museum of History.
Proceeds support Tampa Bay Watch’s mission to conserve Tampa Bay’s ecosystems.
