On March 12, organizers announced that St. Pete’s Reggae Rise Up 2020 is postponed amid coronavirus concerns. The new dates are in October, and no refunds will be issued.

Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Nahko and Medicine for The People, Slightly Stoopid, SOJA, Dirty Heads and Iration are among the acts headed to St. Petersburg for Reggae Rise Up starting March 20 at Vinoy Park, and there’s a glut of pre-and-after-parties to attend, too.

Some attendees, however, might be worried about coronavirus (there are 14 cases and two deaths in Florida as of this post going live).

Worry not, though, friends, as organizers are cautiously moving forward with the festivities.

In a statement to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay, an official at Reggae Rise Up said, “There is no intention of canceling Reggae Rise Up Florida 2020.”

“That said, our team is watching the situation closely and has taken steps to double our hygiene and sanitation assets this year and will be increasing our medical staff,” the official added. “We look forward to seeing everyone in just under two weeks!”

Tickets to the 2020 Reggae Rise Up music festival at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 20-22 are on sale now and start at $55.
