Former Tampa City Councilman (and potential 2011 mayoral candidate) Bob Buckhorn awoke during the middle of the night at his Davis Islands home early Tuesday when he looked outside his living room iwindow and saw three men breaking into his Toyota Sequoia, or as he puts it, "three guys clearly up to no good. They weren't my neighbors. "
So Buckhorn ran out to his driveway, where the would be robbers ran off. He then called 9-1-1, and soon afterwards, Tampa Police had captured two of the three bad guys.
Buckhorn said the TPD has been saturating the area in recent months, letting the Davis Islands community know that a series of car burglaries have been committed.
The political consultant and analyst for Bay News 9 said he now would probably have to tell his wife about the incident, which he didn't do on Monday night. "It wasn't that big of a deal," he said.
