Fashion Week might be over in the world of couture, but the recycled designs at the eco-conscious Trashy Fashion Show stay in style all year round. On this catwalk, you won't find stick-thin professional models sporting gem-encrusted jeans and shoes that cost more than your rent. Instead, area students and residents model pieces created by local designers from stuff that would otherwise be thrown away — at least 75 percent recyclable or reused materials, and no vintage clothing. Cash prizes are awarded for the best of the trashiest fashions, and even nondesigners can score some free merch by signing a pledge to recycle. Pre-show entertainment includes a performance by the Earthlings, a local duo who've used their quirky folk songs to spread the word about recycling, water conservation and other environmental issues since 1992. Tues., April 22, 6 p.m. reception, 7 p.m. fashion show, Largo Cultural Center, 105 Central Park Drive, Largo, $5 in advance/$7 day of, 727-587-6793, largorecycles.com.
