A few noteworthy shows are happening this Tue., July 26. Take a look at the breakdown below.

Gwen Stefani with Eve I’m sorry, but am I the only one that thinks Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton make one very odd couple? Especially considering that she’s coming off someone like Gavin Rossdale; it’s blue-eyed country swagger verses dark eyed alt rock smolder. Guess the pop songstress and No Doubt frontwoman was looking for something entirely opposite. She channeled her feelings about the end of one relationship and beginning of another into the material for her third solo outing, This Is What the Truth Feels Like. Warm-up on her current tour behind it from rapper-singer Eve, who first collaborated with Stefani on 2001 Grammy-winning single “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.” Expect a dazzling stage show infused with elements of pop, hip hop, ska, and dance music. Oh, and expect to see that old school red tartan make an appearance during one of Gwen's many costume changes… (MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, Tampa) –Leilani Polk

In Dying Arms with It Lies Within,Sea Of Treachery, The Wise Man's Fear One time my friend best-described metalcore as the sound of feral dogs barking at each other while hooked up to amplifiers. While their music may not be that discordant and or insane, In Dying Arms manages to capture a raw, primitive element that characterizes the genre while standing out in a sea of overly-adherent same-sounding artists. It Lies Within, which sounds suspiciously similar to other bands with three-word names, is from Michigan, one of the most metal states in the union, and have some rather memorable compositions with clean soaring choruses and throttling verses full of ultra thick and heavy instrumentation. Sea of Treachery and The Wise Man's Fear round out a bill with guttural growling and breakneck tempo changes. (Local 662, St. Petersburg) –Brian Roesler
